Track 1: Operations strategy
Workflow design, back office strategy and operational efficiency, built around metrics your team can read.
You get a scorecard that says what to measure, what the target is and who owns each number, plus a weekly meeting plan that runs the operation on those numbers.
You also get quality control programs and superintendent training. We train your office and sales teams on construction principles too, so your office and sales teams understand what the field has to build.
Track 2: Systems that do the busywork
Operational systems and automation, for the work your people repeat every day. You choose how we work on it: Sand & Sage builds the system, guides your outside developer, or advises your internal developers. If you already have a developer, that is fine. We fit in around them.
We run our own operations on these systems today, so we show you working examples, not slides. One is the Site Development Concierge assistant, which checks new project action items against the tasks we already have, posts them for one tap approval, and keeps an audit trail. Others are our marketing system and the research tools behind SiteFacts Reports.
Track 3: Leadership development
Coaching for construction leaders and owner operators, tied to your real operating problems, not a classroom. The goal is leaders who lead without you in the room.
Don's practice draws on principles from Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink, the principles of Dale Carnegie, and Multipliers by Liz Wiseman. Those are sources of principles only. Sand & Sage is not certified by, affiliated with or endorsed by these authors.
Don also hosts the Leadership Lunch Hour podcast. Episodes from January to March 2026 cover accountability, tough conversations, leadership failures and how leaders are made.
